Martha is a true champion of the underground electronic music scene, consistently platforming grassroots artists.

A radio regular who’s made a name for herself with her thoughtfully curated shows, Martha’s broadcasting skills have taken her all the way to the BBC Radio 1 airwaves after having been selected by the legendary Annie Nightingale, with whom Martha shared a special bond. Martha is keeping Annie’s spirit and dedication to new music going on Radio 1 every Tuesday night from 11pm, the show is a journey through the most exciting innovations in electronic music and always spotlights women in music.

Though at home on the radio, Martha’s wide-ranging taste and eclectic sensibilities make her primed and ready for the club, with a deep knowledge of cutting-edge club tracks.

Martha grew up in Peckham, South East London where she joined Reprezent FM at age 16 and fell in love with radio. Early raving years were spent in Corsica Studios where she formed a deep respect for electronic music and the community that surrounds it. Martha joined NTS in 2018, building up a weekly show that combines the production value and detail of daytime radio with the most exciting underground names in the future of electronic music. Each of Martha’s thoughtfully curated radio shows navigate the fringes of electronic music, with a clear narrative that is grounded in community and storytelling.

Now taking that same unique approach to national level, you can find Martha on BBC Radio 1 every Tuesday at 11pm.

Beyond radio, Martha’s time is spent nurturing Tempo, a group she established in 2018 that aims to support the mental and physical wellbeing of London’s music community through running and movement. Martha also enjoys working with LCC as a lecturer in sound and interview technique.
